Airbrush and Spray Tan Service
Do you want that sun kissed glow but without the sun damage that comes with it? Sometimes, in the middle of winter, it is nice to attain a bronzed look but it can be difficult to figure out how to do that. Spray tanning, otherwise known as an airbrush tan, is a great solution for those people who want to achieve a bronzed look all year round without the dangerous risks associated with sun exposure.
What is Spray Tanning?
It’s safe to admit that everyone looks a little better with some color on their skin. Airbrush tanning is a technique where a gentle mist of custom bronze color is sprayed all over your body so that you can have an even, darker skin tone in just 30 minutes! The spray tan formula contains an ingredient called Dihydroxyacetone (or DHA) which oxidizes on your skin and creates a darker color. DHA is completely safe for your skin. It is FDA approved and non-toxic.
How Long Does a Spray Tan Last?
A spray tan generally lasts up to two weeks, depending on certain lifestyle factors such as how often you sweat, swim or bathe. A spray tan can be customized and controlled, unlike tanning beds and sun tanning. Your personal color technician can help you choose the right depth of color for your skin tone and hair color, so that you can achieve the most natural look possible.
A professional airbrush tan application is better at achieving an overall even application than do it yourself creams, mousses and gels that are available over the counter. The whole process is very quick, and will not last more than 30 minutes. After the formula sets, you are ready to go out and enjoy your day! There is no “curing” time involved. However, it is recommended for the product to fully set, not to shower or moisturize for at least 24 hours after the appointment.
How do I Get a Spray Tan?
You can conveniently schedule a spray tan appointment from the comfort of your living room, according to your personal schedule. Our salon also offers our clients the convenience of walk in appointments, if this is more convenient.
What Should I do Before Hand?
To ensure the best result with your spray tan, it is best to come to your appointment with fully shaved or waxed body hair. This allows for the best application of the formula onto the skin. It is best to come to the salon with clean skin free of any products that are already on it, as this can interfere with the tanning process. Some areas such as the lips, knees, elbows and ankles, have a tendency to absorb the tanning solution faster than other areas of the body. These areas could benefit from a small amount of moisturizer prior to the tanning application to ensure an all-over even tone.
